Vitala

The concept for VitalaMilk was set in motion on the Vanderkooi Dairy Farm in Abbotsford, B.C.. With a passion for their herd, a love of innovation and a desire to create healthier dairy products, Bill and his brother Theo determined to find a way to have their cows naturally produce milk with DHA Omega-3.

In 2006, they accomplished this using naturally enriched feed. Once tested and approved by Health Canada and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, Bill immediately began plans to make these enriched milk products available to the public.

In order to distribute these products to consumers, Bill wanted to partner with an established local dairy producer who shared his values. He discovered Avalon Dairy in Vancouver, B.C. and a partnership was formed.

In February 2008, Bill Vanderkooi and Avalon Dairy launched VitalaMilk - B.C.’s only locally produced milk containing DHA Omega-3. VitalaMilk is available in 1%, 2%, or 3% partly skimmed milk and sold in a 946mL reusable, eco-friendly glass bottle.
